MODELSS

Modeled these guys up today. I put in sides and a top (for around the ruler to prevent the wiggle)
and put two angles on each side (see last one to the right) so you had the reference
angles 45, 60, 30 handy. Then I realized that since I figured out the slot size for the ruler
I could just make new attachments that would let you draw lines at those angles.
So I made the other three.

And sent them to the printer.
Also sent a bad file, but finally managed to catch all my mistakes before I sent it.

Success..

 Finally got some successful results..

What I got back from the printer

The one (and ONLY one) that fits my ruler. But its a good fit with minimal wiggle.

Also decided that the height and width of test piece one is good (the length is not reflected in the test pieces, the final will be longer)

Next step is to model the top part of the T square so that it doesn't wiggle and has reference angles and measurements included.

In other news, I printed a wolf key chain for my brother...

Losing my marbles

Been trying to print the same file for three days now. Having issues with prints failing due to multiple surfaces, etc. Probably not a terrible thing because I realized today that I have nine rectangles that all look the same and I won't know which one is which once they're pulled from the Makerbot. Fixed my file completely, added some numbers, and sent this to the bot today. Hopefully it actually works this time..

Next Round

Outer size is better and a raftless print was successful, but the ruler slot turned out to be a little big and will need to be adjusted

Conclusions

Things I've found:
I can't print with a raft. It's difficult to get off and blocks the ruler spot. Since I couldn't get the raft off I couldn't confirm whether or not the ruler spot was the right size, but the biggest one seemed right.
Secondly, the quarter inch by quarter inch surface seemed like it was not sufficient.
Next print: I went ahead with the ruler slot size from the third test and printed another attachment that was larger.

First round results

From top to bottom, ruler spot increases in size
